  • Summary of the student writing competition
  • Keynote talk by Niq Mhlongo on cultivating a new generation of readers and writers in Southern Africa
  • Closing remarks by Zachary Rosen

Saturday September 6, 2014

Daytime – Maseru Prep School

  • Bookmaking with children led by Family Art and Literacy.)
  • Storytelling performance* (Reatile Mohapeloa)
  • Creative student performances in Theatre, dance, poetry and live music by students from National University of Lesotho International School
  • Live performance by local star Juvinile and renowned Poet Teboho Rantsoabe*
  • Panel discussion facilitated by Bongani Kona (Chimurenga) – “The past present and future of creative writing in Southern Africa”* (led by Niq Mhlongo, Yewande Omotoso, Mpho Makara, Teboho Rantsoabe, Patrick Bereng and Teboho Rantsoabe)*
  • Google Hangout with Zakes Mda

Evening – Private Residence

  • Poetry performances by Siphiwe, Lineo Tsikoane,
  • Live music by Zhazha and partner.
  • After-party with live DJ
